Dawn Wells defies geography since she’s managed to be a University of Washington graduate, a Miss Nevada pageant queen, and a castaway on Gilligan’s Island—while being the ultimate girl-next-door! The Alpha Chi Omega sorority alumna began acting with guest spots on a number of TV shows, but it didn’t take long for her to be cast as Mary Ann Summers on Gilligan’s Island (1965-1966). The rest, they say, is herstory since the CBS sitcom became an instant hit. In fact, a common pop culture question is, “Who would you rather get tropical with? Ginger or Mary Ann?” We’re putting our money on the wholesome hottie in short-shorts and pigtails! Even though the classic series doesn’t offer any classic nudity, Ms. Wells flashes enough flesh to raise more than just your sail! The all-American babe flaunts her fab figure in a low-cut one-piece (actually, it’s two pieces if you count her groovy bathing cap). That is, until she loses her suit altogether. If she hadn’t covered herself in the water, we’d be seeing the ultimate boob-tube broadcast. Throughout the show’s run, Dawn also donned a minidress during a dance that ended with an upskirt view of her underpants! Since that skintastic site and the program’s demise, the pretty performer moved on with theater roles and charity work. However, Ms. Wells returned to her beloved character when she released Mary Ann’s Gilligan’s Island Cookbook in 1993 and What Would Mary Ann Do? A Guide to Life in 2014. We’re not sure what Dawn would do, but we’ve got some suggestive suggestions!
