Hailing from Brisbane, Australia where she was born in 1952, Elizabeth Alexander has been active in the film, television and theatre world since the early 1970s. She even won the prestigious George Wallace Memorial Award for Best New Talent at the 1974 Logie Awards down under! She's also a noted poet who read one of her poems at President Barack Obama's first inauguration in 2009! Not bad for a girl from a small town in Australia! Before we get carried away with talking about awards and inaugurations, we should also note that early in her career, she had a spectacular nude scene in the Australian film Summerfield (1977)!
