She’d had a pretty quiet career as a TV and movie starlet, but all that changed when Peggy Lipton represented all that is groovy as a member of The Mod Squad. This crime series was an instant hit--in large part due to Peggy’s wholesome sex appeal as hippie undercover cop Julie Barnes. Peggy retired when the show went off the air in 1974, happy to concentrate on motherhood to future actresses Rashida Jones and Kidada Jones and marriage to legendary producer Quincy Jones (who, sadly, couldn’t help Peggy’s failed bid to become a pop star during The Mod Squad’s run). Peggy made a few token acting appearances--including an obligatory role in The Return of Mod Squad (1979)--but she didn’t make a full return from retirement until 1988, the year before her divorce. Peggy regained her cult status as a stacked waitress on the ABC show Twin Peaks and revived her movie career. One of her film credits from this time is Skipped Parts (2000), which contains a heart-skipping scene where Peggy exposes her bod to the breeze in a sheer pink dress. We don't get to see her private parts, though. We never got to see her private parts. After making her Mr. Skin debut in that film, pretty Peg appeared clothed in shows like Alias, House of Lies, and the Twin Peaks revival, as well as in movies like When in Rome (2010) and A Dog's Purpose (2017). Peggy passed away on May 11, 2019 at age 72. Rest in peace you piece of tail.
