Strana la vita (1987)

Procrastination pays off in the quirky Italian romantic drama Strana la vita (1987). The film’s hero, Dario (Diego Abantantuono), seems ready to propose to his pretty schoolteacher girlfriend, but something makes him wait. Through a strange series of events, Dario becomes reacquainted--and re-involved--with an ex-flame (Monica Guerritore) and a female mental patient (Domiziana Giordano). Soon the lucky sap’s monogamous relationship has morphed into a love rectangle. Guerritore’s the only one of the mistresses to show her goods--the Roman goddess gets chatty during a lengthy shower scene at Dario’s flat.
